Everything was going great until it came time to discuss the payment for the treatment plan. The woman takes me in the room, sits me down, gives me a total price of $8500 with no itemization, and immediately starts running my credit. Red flag! I decided a second opinion was definitely needed and found a dentist to do all of it for $3000 less than what they were trying to charge me and completely itemized everything I would be charged up front unlike this place. Same thing happened with my husband. Do yourself a favor and shop around. I'm glad I did.

The hygienist I saw was great, but the dentist is on another planet. I got told I needed teeth pulled and when I went to get a 2nd opinion at a highly rated local dentist, the other dentist I saw had NO idea why they would ever suggest pulling my teeth. I wouldn't ever come back to Aspen. I almost lost teeth that were perfectly healthy. I had read bad reviews before this and thought "well it can't be that bad" but oh my god?

They are great. My 76 year old mother with dementia is not an easy patient. Getting into and out as quickly as possible is key with her and the staff responded with excellence. Thank you. Tammy

Very disappointed today in what occurred. I want to mention that Sylvia the dental technician is the absolute best and I have always requested her as she knows exactly what she is doing and does it beyond 5 stars. My experience today however was disheartening and as a paying patient that had my upper denture made with Aspen over a year ago and been back many times for reliner and fittings which is a normal procedure after getting a denture. I felt I have got to know everyone, and developed a good relationship with some of the staff. When I got my denture I paid out of pocket for one of the better dentures because I did not have insurance at the time. Now a few years later, I have very good dental coverage and have seen another dentist for fillings, cleanings etc....I also needed my denture liner redone as it once again was gone. My current dentist did a soft liner in office.....no big deal. Today I had an appointment and went back to aspen due to the fact that my denture in the back was ulcerating each side of my mouth and also needs to be lined again. I can not eat due to the pressure and ulcers. Sylvia looked in my mouth and said "oh yeah that's bad" They have a new dentist now and I was introduced to her today. She never looked in my mouth. I was just introduced and she walked out of the room. Dr. Patel was the one that was my dentist before and she was fabulous. Sylvia had to break the news to me and I was told today that due to the fact another dentist did a soft liner on the denture and "touched" my denture (which is nothing more than putting a thick gel substance cushioning on the palate, which is temporary just like aspen does when they do a soft liner which isn't permanent) that now they could not do anything with my denture . I said "they won't even trim the back to fit better in my mouth so my ulcers aren't being touched" she told me no they wouldn't do it. I could tell Sylvia felt horrible and wanted so bad to trim my denture and help me but they wouldn't allow it. My insurance covers 2500 dollars up front now plus a denture for 5 years which does not include the 2500 up front cost. I've never used the benefit and was planning to with them and I told them that. I just can't believe that they treat a patient that is in real pain like that and can not even eat due to the situation going on with the denture they made. Not sure I will go back and am going to miss Sylvia. I am now waiting over at the other dentist's office to see if they can squeeze me in and see what they can do about the denture causing the ulcerations that Aspen dental made.

I had a wonderful experience. The tech and dentist were superb. I deducted 1 star because of the male receptionist’ s unprofessionalism. He made me “yell” my personal information throughout the office because he refused to be in close proximity to me.
Everyone else was professional, compassionate and made my visit worth becoming a long-time dental customer!
Thanks!!

From the first visit to the last visit. The staff listened and assisted me from start to finish. The staff never made me feel uncomfortable and always greeted me as a member of their staff. I would recommend anyone needing dental work to go to Aspen Dental.

It's hard to know where to start.

I visited once, and I wasn't there long.

They took.... 20 x rays? 25? They just KEPT taking x rays. I would think that four would cover it. Eight? TWELVE?

No, I'd say they took twice that many, and most of them were pretty painful. The hygienist couldn't seem to understand why I was gagging on the sensor she left in my mouth.

There was a pretty distinct lack of compassion at every stage of the process.

She finally got another hygienist to help her, so that she could position the sensor and the other hygienist could snap the photo, without a lot of walking back and forth as I gagged. A good solution, but then the first hygienist almost immediately decided to leave, I guess because she was sick of hearing my valid complaints.

The second hygienist switched to a smaller sensor, which helped, but she of course had to leave it in my mouth for long periods as she walked back and forth.

I should add that the second hygienist was reasonably nice, as were the receptionists.

The second hygienist had me wait in a little waiting room for a few minutes, and then showed me to an examination room.

There were some kind of..... very dirty looking tools on the wall. They looked like something from Home Depot. The hygienist said they were for shaping.... castings of teeth? Something like that. It seemed a reasonable explanation, but I've never seen such a thing in a dentist's office, and I've been in.... seven of them?

The hygienist could sense my apprehension, and she asked if I were feeling all right. I said I didn't have much confidence in the clinic and its staff so far. She left and someone else came in. I'd seen him at reception. He asked the same question. I gave the same answer. He said I had no obligation to continue the visit. I got the distinct impression he was suggesting that I leave. I left, still without the services I needed.

I guess it could have been worse, but I was glad to get out of there. A lack of caring and compassion for patients is generally a deal-breaker for me. Couple that with even a hint of incompetence, and I'll be happy to leave.

I had the best dental experience at Aspen Dental! From the moment I walked in, the receptionist made me feel so welcome and comfortable. Her friendly demeanor set the tone for the entire visit. The dentist was equally amazing—extremely nice, and knowledgeable! Definitely recommend them!
