I highly recommend to change your IPA if you were assigned to this one! The authorization department does not do their job referring you to the right doctor or even bother to verify first if they were referring you to the right doctor. It is their job to verify necessary information to get their patients' access to specialist! They are delaying patient's treatment! DMHC should be aware of this!

Delayed & denied health care so many times due to the inefficient & negligent operations of Angeles IPA. Inconsistently sending authorizations to both me and the doctors, lack of follow through, and blatant mistakes that take weeks to fix. Then, after hours on the phone trying to resolve the issues, staff advises me to “change my tone.” My tone accurately conveys the frustration I feel for the gross incompetence of Angeles IPA.

If there’s a medical group that puts profit before people, it is this one. Every physician I’ve been referred through via this medical corporation has lacked empathy, sympathy, kindness, and overall humanity. My heart goes out to the elderly patients, disabled folk, and monolingual families that oftentimes do not have the self-advocacy skills or financial means to demand more from this mediocre medical system. There should be some accountability measures for the physicians, administrators, and the corporate leaders to produce better results for the humans that depend on Angeles-IPA medical care.

The absolute worst insurance ever. When I first got them, they were accepted everywhere, but now I can't even do lab work in the city I live in. I live next to so many clinics, hospitals, and labs yet I can't go to any of them because my insurance has severed ties with all of them (I had to drive 30 miles to UCLA to get my lab work done). They have also rejected various authorization attempts to get a much needed surgery done for the past year. After months of haggling, I finally got my surgery approved to be done at UCLA, but there's still a possibility it might not get authorized since I need to do various tests beforehand, and they hate when the price adds up.

They partner with ABC labs only. These labs are low quality labs. I have to drive for about 1 hour to get my blood test done. You have to spend a lot of time to find a good doctor in this network as well. The group has a very limited coverage in terms of doctor offices. I do not recommend it.
