If you're looking for a new doctor, I highly recommend Amity Health. Dr. Tsay is excellent—he truly takes the time to listen to all of your concerns. He’s upfront about what he can address personally and what may need a referral to a specialist. The experience at Amity Health is refreshingly different from a typical doctor’s office. Instead of waiting a long time only to be rushed through a brief appointment, Dr. Tsay genuinely cares about finding a tailored solution for your issues. Decided to go the direct primary care route after having a difficult time finding a doctor who could see me in a reasonable timeframe. So glad to have been told of Dr. Tsay. Dr.Tsay and his staff are wonderful! Dr.Tsay is such an experienced and caring doctor. I recently opted into his membership for health care and so far it's been cost affective and affordable. His visits are fairly quick, however, he always takes his time to thoroughly explain & understand my concerns and needs. The office environment is clean and welcoming, and the wait times are minimal. As someone who works in the critical care as a nurse, I try to take care of myself, but sometimes you need someone who gives their time to provide personalized care for you. I didn’t really understand what DPC was, but I figured I would give it a try after seeing how my primary (and my urgent care visit) left me with disappointment.

After experiencing some weakness and a fever, a lot of my coworkers told me to go home and call out and even wheeled me out. While at urgent care, the doctor didn’t even assess me or order any tests. As someone who works in healthcare, I knew to advocate for myself as a patient, but that’s what a primary/family med doctor should do and Doctor Tsay will do that for you. I have seen many people enter the critical care with family and patient in shock about their conditions, and none of this would happen with an attentive and competent primary care doctor.

DPC/Direct Primary Care is definitely new and unique to many, and confusing at first as well, but it provides the care that everyone deserves. I do not want to fault the doctors at big hospitals and insurance groups as the healthcare system has set it up to where each doctor has over a thousand patients on their panels, so it’s not surprise that the model encourages a get in get out model. With DPC, Doctor Tsay gets to set the limit and dedicate his time to each of his patients (me included). And just like that, he was able to diagnose me with a specific infection and started me on antibiotics.

I wish I knew a better way to explain to people on how DPC works, as people are both confused and hesitant when they already have insurance. Nobody wants to pay twice for healthcare when there is so much distrust in healthcare systems by the lay person, so I hope that Doctor Tsay can spread his reach and educate the public more. I hope to see his practice become successful as we all deserve good healthcare that’s reasonably priced.
