I have been coming to this location for the last 9 years and have had good experiences. However, the last time I was there (4 months ago), instead of setting up a future appointment for a cleaning after I was done like I usually do, I was instructed to call to set up an appointment. After calling today I was told that I could not set up an appointment due to a short staff of dental hygienist and that I would have to wait for them to call me for next available appointment. With that being mentioned, I don't think it is ideal for any individual to have to wait for an opening to get an appointment. A professional and well run clinic would have you being able to come in on a routine basis and have your annual cleaning and check up done. When the dental hygienist tells me that I should set up an appointment for 4 months later to get a check up and cleaning and then I go to do that and can't get an appointment set up I see a problem. I'm going to have to find a new clinic now because this location seems to have some internal issues going on which is preventing me from getting the care I need for my teeth.

Recommend ADT Dental highly!! Excellent dentists— knowledgeable, skillful, very, very experienced, friendly, and welcoming of questions about all procedures.
Hygienists are very excellent also.
The front office staff is friendly and efficient.
Adult family members have all switched to ADT Dental and are very satisfied with their skillful services.

I have pretty bad anxiety when it comes to dentists- ADT was awesome. Everyone I interacted with was so nice! Definitely did not feel judged- they were so kind, professional, and helpful. Looking forward to getting into a routine with this spot because I definitely wasn’t the person who goes every 6 month (or year) but they make it feel very approachable and welcoming. They do everything they can to get you on a good schedule (despite them being VERY popular and booked out).

Linda was kind and patient as she cleaned my teeth with excellent sensitivity. She did a thorough job and also answered all of my questions. Just had my teeth cleaned after almost eight years (I know, don’t judge) and was absolutely dreading it. But in less than an hour it was over, no pain, no bad news from the neglect, so much supportive encouragement for me to get back on track. It’s such a professional operation yet at the same time with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. They’re VERY careful about masking and hygiene. Appointments promptly kept. A friend recommended ADT and I’m super glad she did.

**The Worst Mistake of My Life**

My experience at this clinic has been nothing short of a nightmare. I originally went in because I lost my retainer and wanted a permanent one made, but they advised against it.

In addition, I had chipped front tooth. Dr. Knox instructed the technician not to make any adjustments due to the location of the chip. However, after she walked away, the technician ground down my teeth anyway. The result was awful—my front teeth were severely misshapen, and the bonding the tech applied to “fix” it is a terrible mess.

They made me a retainer/bite guard, but when I received it, it barely fit. I expressed that it was painful to wear, but they assured me it would adjust over time. Unfortunately, the pain only worsened, and my bite began to shift. I reached out to Dr. Knox, who said we could do an adjustment and encouraged me to keep wearing it. Despite this, the pain intensified, and I could feel my bite changing.

Upon seeing Dr. Knox again, she noticed that the device still had excess material that should have been removed before I received it. After removing it, she insisted the device couldn't harm my teeth. I trusted her and continued wearing it, but the pain persisted. I reached out once more, only to be told that another adjustment was needed. Following her advice, I continued treatment, and my teeth began breaking.

I once had a perfect smile, but now my teeth are broken, and I’m in constant pain. After all of this, Dr. Knox finally said, “this device might not be for you” and suggested I seek help elsewhere. By that time, my bite had shifted so much that another clinic told me they couldn’t make the permanent retainer I initially wanted.

A TMD specialist later confirmed that Dr. Knox had misdiagnosed me, and that the device should never have been used in this way. After seeing multiple dentists, I was denied help because none of them wanted to risk making the situation worse. I contacted Dr. Knox again, pleading for help. She scheduled a follow-up.

I returned to Dr. Knox in hopes of a resolution, but she refused to assist further after discovering I’d gone to another clinic for a cleaning.

TLDR
I came in wanting a permanent retainer, was advised against it, misdiagnosed and received treatment that led to broken teeth, a shifted bite, and chronic daily pain. I’ve been in a deep depression because of this experience. I have 3D printed models showing the condition of my teeth before and after treatment, and the damage is undeniable. Despite following Dr. Knox’s care instructions, I was ultimately told to seek help elsewhere. I can’t even get the permanent retainers I originally wanted because my bite/teeth have been so damaged. I once had a perfect smile, now I don’t smile anymore.

Avoid this clinic at all costs, I went for help and they ruined my life.

I am so happy to have found ADT Dental. The staff up front are very helpful when scheduling or answering general insurance related questions. Also, the hygienists and Dr Knox far exceeded my expectations. I have never had a more gentle, caring, and efficient experience at any other dentist.

ADT staff has been taking care of my smile for 4+ years. I have not once had a bad experience here! all staff from the receptionist when you walk in the door to the hygienist, and Dr. Knox are amazing and do a remarkable job. I feel welcome every time I walk in the door! I actually have an appointment today and I'm looking forward to it; my guess is not that many people say that they look forward to going to the dentist. If you are in need of a new dentist I would highly suggest ADT Dental in Minneapolis-Uptown area. Thanks staff!
