Horrible. I have been trying to get help in regards to a license renewal block, and only get select replies through the portal message system and they are not clear. Have been working on this for a whole month, and it could have been handled already if I was able to consistently get ahold of someone. Only occasionally able to leave a voicemail, and those have not been returned. Showed up to the BON in person, and there is no front desk and didn’t see a single person on the floor. Making my move back to AR and starting a new job way more difficult than it has to be.

Called to ask a question for a candidate on how to get a license for Arkansas and was met with extreme rudeness! Why be so rude when I’m just trying to ask questions!! These are the types of people you want working with the public

I've tried for almost a decade on multiple occasions to endorse my nursing license over to this state and I'm always denied without a valid explanation. This last time I was asked to get an evaluation done that cost me 700.00 out of my own pocket and they still denied me. Smh.

Only because ZERO isn't an option! These people should be ashamed of themselves! Not at all helpful... not even INTERESTED in helping!!! Lady sends me to a direct line for renewals and tells me to leave a message... except there is no mailbox set up. It's just an automated recording telling me to go online. I've already been there and what I need to do isn't covered by your online program!

I called to inquire about the status of my background check. They say they mailed it out but I never received it. I have lived at the same address for 10years. So, I had to pay extra to get fingerprints. I was asking question she couldn't answer. Then she got upset and started speaking to me in a rude tone, so when I asked her name she hung the phone up in my face. Rude and very unprofessional. No one returns phone calls. You have to show up in person. How do some of them still have jobs? Just awful.

It's hard to get hold of their contact numbers so I had to dial over and over until someone picked it up. I was able to talked to Ms Nixon and Ms Carla and they're very nice except for Ms Timmy or Tammy who got so mad over the phone because I dialled several times.
Very unprofessional.

I just called to ask a few questions regarding transferring a license from a non compact state to AR. My experience was awful. Rude, rude, rude, rude woman.

I originally called on a non holiday during normal business hours, maybe 2pm-3pm (AR time), and left a message because no one answered. It took the woman whose answering machine I left a message on 2 days to call me back. Her name is Margie Brauer, and on the Arkansas State Board of Nursing’s website she is listed as their Licensing Coordinator/Endorsements. Mind you she called me back at 4pm so I know for sure that 2pm is not too late for them to get a message and respond on time to a call. During the conversation she was incredibly condescending. The woman who called me back seemed in a complete rush to get the phone conversation over with and she kept saying, “it’s all just online”, “go online”, “just apply online”. WELL I WOULDN’T BE CALLING YOU SAYING I HAVE QUESTIONS IF IT WERE REALLY ALL SO CLEAR ONLINE. Oh and BTW, it isn’t all online because my license isn’t in one of the compact license states so I have to send my verification request in by paper, which when I asked for clarification regarding this point as she was telling me something different, she was forced to admit that it wasn’t really all online as she had thought. I think she must have been pissed that I made her look like she didn’t know what she was doing (cause she really didn’t seem like she did), because after that she was even more rude. She said things to me when I asked her questions (cause it’s not like answering my questions is her job or anything), such as, “That’s really a waste of time” and “Whatever that’s fine”. I honestly felt incredibly disrespected. She was very passive aggressive in her tone and word choices. She seemed really flustered and almost even angry that I was taking up her time. In my opinion she needs either an extended vacation so she can chill out or to just be fired and replaced with someone who actually knows about their job and a little something about interacting with people kindly. If you call and have to talk to this lady, don’t waste your time, just hang up and “GO ONLINE!” to figure it out yourself.

For those that have complained about issues with the board of nursing in Arkansas, I can assure you, this board is a Godsend compared to Oklahoma. Count your blessings.

Ladies, thank you for all your prompt help. You’ve taken 1000 pounds of stress off of me. I’ll be sure to let Kevin Stitt (the governor of Oklahoma) know that Oklahoma can take a few lessons from you all.
