So I don’t like putting information regarding my mental health out there… But if it can help others, I gladly will.
Without going too far into it… I’ve been going through a rough patch. I decided it was time to reach out and get a lil help for it. With how the world is now, you need a referral to get into almost anywhere. So I set up an appointment here. I went in and could tell almost immediately I wasn’t taken seriously at all… mind you I wasn’t going HERE for mental health treatment. I was going for a referral. So… I go in, they take me back and do the whole questionnaire thing. Zero empathy zero sympathy… that’s just from the nurse. Then the practitioner comes in… same thing. Barley got any words in and she just put me on Lexapro. I told that woman I stopped taking it because it wasn’t working. I asked for a different antidepressant. Nope. The minimum dose of Lexapro they can prescribe. I then tell her I really just came in for a referral to a psychiatrist and if we could get that sent I’d be really appreciative and grateful. She assures me she’ll get it sent in… But then says sometimes they get “lost.” Which raises a flag in my head… should have listened. She said call back in a week and check on it. I gave them TWO weeks. I call up, they reassure me it’s been sent off but they’ll put another one in. Two more weeks go by and I call back… same thing. Next time I call… same thing. So here we are almost 3 months afterwards. And nothing. I did my homework and called around and was able to get an appointment with a different doctor at a different place. Called in today to withdrawal consent to my medical history/records and to cease being a patient there.
I get this is Van Buren Arkansas… But when someone trusts you with their mental health… AND it’s your job to make sure they’re taken care of… you DO NOT drop the ball like this. Mental health is so so important and serious. Being a medical facility.. you’d think they’d understand and comprehend this. This is honestly wild to me. I was clearly clearly in a very bad place when I went in. You’d think when someone’s crying in an office talking about how crazy life is and saying they need help… they’d take you a little more seriously. It’s not easy to come forward about mental health issues. Especially in today’s society. There’s a stigma and people judge very very easily. So when I came to them and trusted to help get me in somewhere… I honestly thought they’d take me a little more seriously or at least act a little more caring. Nope.

Doctor arrived late "due to traffic", which might have been easier to believe if she wasn't holding a Chic-Fil-A cup. Sounds more like late from drive thru traffic. Wife checks in, and had to wait almost an hour despite getting here before they opened. Avoid if you need care. Maybe some are interested in helping, but from my experience here, they are only interested in what insurance provider you have.

The employee at the front desk was the rudest human I've come into contact with in a long time. She treated me like garbage, she probably shouldn't be working in any type of customer service. I will definitely not be going back there.
