My aunt was recently there for 3 days do to a major back surgery! and was lefted on the toilet for hours and they refused to come get her and even took it as far as to turn her buzzer off so she couldn’t alert them! She had to literally call the paramedics from her cell phone to come get her to return her to the hospital! This ridiculous and so disgusting and unprofessional! I don’t suggest anyone to allow their family members to be placed in this facility! I wouldn’t recommend Placing a turtle in this facility! It’s dirty the nurses and people that are supposed to be helping you are very very rude and don’t care about human beings. This place needs to be shut down immediately. And speaking of being shut down, I think my family is going to contact the Board of Health cause this is outrageous. What’s the point of being a rehabilitation center If people aren’t there to genuinely rehabilitate people or show any type of care towards people in their pain, I am very hurt right now about this situation to the point where I feel like this needs to be on the news and everything. This is crazy and the fact that I had to give them one star just to post this review is even more crazy because they don’t deserve no stars my family is very hurt and upset about this situation. We love our family members and people should show genuine care for other human beings as well.

My relative is here receiving services. Relative Told that she had to urinate and have bowel movements In her brief when she has to use the bathroom. Relative calls me to say she is in urine and feces and needs to be changed. When I call nurses station they have attitudes. Relative was Told the kitchen was closed and she could not have anything to eat,. I overheard this with my own ears. She asked if she had to wait until the kitchen opened and the nurse said “yeah baby you do.” Relative was without oxygen for at least two hours. Told nurse and it took her about 10 minutes to come around the room. Oxygen was lower than what she was supposed to have. Told nurse who had attitude and it took her another 15 minutes to come to the room to adjust it. The room is dirty. Another relative of mine had to request that they clean the room which included removing a pile of infected gowns. Etc. from sn overflowing box in her room. …it goes on and on. Called DON twice (today left message for nurse supv to ask if DON can call me regarding concerns but no one called). called DON on Friday morning Feb 14th regarding my relative. Did not receive a call back on Friday so I called back and was told on Friday afternoon that she was off. You would think thst someone would have called in her place since they took down a written message from me. I Was transferred to ADON and spoke to her regarding the concern of being told that she has to go to bathroom in brief. Never heard back from ADON. Also when you walk in the building there is a stench. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Poor communication, lack of follow-up from administration. Relative Been there since Jan 31st and no plan of care meeting with nursing staff to discuss my relative. When you contact administration with concerns there is no follow-up calls/contact regarding messages you have left, it just speaks volumes regarding the quality of care, and the level of respect, dignity, etc that they have for the patients. It is absolutely a disgrace!

Horrible facility that should be shut down! My aunt had to call 911 to come remove her from this facility because the employees were so negligent, rude, & liars. She is recovering from spinal surgery. They forced her to wear a pull-up and they give the patients medications that puts them to sleep most of the day. They turned her call bell off when she buzzed for help to the restroom. She tried to make it on her own but ended up urinating on herself. She was not bathed in the four days that she was there. There was a mouse running across the floor in her room. They refused to give her meds at the scheduled times. In fact, I believe they were stealing her oxycodone. Her orders were to receive two oxycodone, but they would give her one oxycodone and three Tylenol instead. They also falsified her blood pressure readings and medications she was given in her chart records. Only God knows what else they falsified. When the paramedics arrived, my aunt‘s blood pressure was extremely high, and it was only then the nurse attempted to give her the meds that she should’ve received hours prior. Even the paramedics knew she was unsafe there and took her back to Riddle Hospital. The paramedics documented that they were told her bp was recently taken and normal, only to realize that was a lie because the paramedic took the blood pressure herself and recorded how high it was. The paramedics also documented that medication was only brought to my aunt once they arrived. I will be calling Medicare on Monday to file a formal complaint against this facility and the staff. My aunt is in her 60s. She is fully alert and aware. I feel sorry for the patients stuck there that can’t speak for themselves.

My grandmother was admitted last night at 8pm. Between 8pm-9pm she was “supposedly” trying to get out of bed, so the nurses decided that they were going to put her in a wheel chair (she is very weak and cannot walk or barely move at the moment) and keep her at the nurses station from 9pm-12am. She was not being monitored properly and fell face first onto the floor and was transported to crozer. No staff reached out to our family to alert us, and we didn’t find out until this morning when we went to visit her and were told the information.

It's dirty the some of the nurses are so rude they don't listen to you. My mom has been in there for 4 weeks and they make her sit in a wheel chair in the dining area from 8 am to 9:30 pm before returning her to her room. She is misses her clothes that I see other patients wearing. I visit my my a lot and they don't bathe her since she has been in there. She wears the same clothes for three days, I have to go in a change her. I had to buy her new clothes because hers have disappeared. I have witnessed some of the nurses just sitting on the dining area reading and when someone ask to get help to go to the bathroom they say no just go in your diaper. Her room is so dirty and the bathrooms are also. Trying to get her out of this hell whole.

This place is horrible. The care my God mother received was horrendous. They turn the buzzers off, they wasn’t feeding her or giving her medication . She had to call the ambulance because they drugged her water. That’s how she was able to go to another facility. This place needs to be closed down.

Being a Nurse in the Geriatric field of over 20yrs, I’ve observed several Geriatric Facilities. Upon entering the Main Lobby, it was Extremely Nice, but so are Every Other Facility…90% of the time once You get off the elevator to the patient rooms, it turns into a Nightmare! It was beyond Refreshing that this was the Complete and Total Opposite @ Sterling! The Staff was very relaxed and kind, which is a such a rarity now. I’ve learned that the best indicator of how a facility truly is would be the Residents. Stevie Wonder could see how Well Cared for The Residents are at Sterling! The interaction between Staff and the Residents was Warm..Real..Like Family..Like it Should Be. Unfortunately, this Type of Facility is a Dying Breed, but it felt good to be in an environment where it was Obvious the # 1 Concern wasn’t MONEY, in was THE RESIDENTS❤️
