My mother died there almost 3 weeks ago. I really regret having my mother there, a pain I will have to live with for the rest of my life. Please don't take your love one there especially if they have dementia. They have some sorry lazy C&A employees and nurses, especially in memory and long term care was just as bad.

Stay far away from this place ! It is understaffed and very dangerous for your loved ones. Numerous falls and serious accidents are not reported or recorded at this facility. The administrator Veronicia is sleeping with the central supply director and also allows his mom Sandra Stone to manipulate and control irrationally! Sad to say the review posted below by Letoria Moore is FALSE ! She is an employee at this facility as a weekend MAC & weekday Admissions Coordinator. This place needs to be shut down!! Don’t leave your family here to die.

I have had many loved ones here at North Hill. The care is good and I appreciate the compassion of the staff that took care of them. Each person that has rehab here has a different experience. No facility is perfect, but I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for a place for their loved one.

Very rude, unpleasant and unprofessional staff on all levels. I personally would never put a loved one in this place. I would never refer this place to anyone, even a stranger. They sure paint a pretty picture of it but sont be fooled by all that. We had 1 and I mean 1 nurse to 50 patients, their words not mine. If it were my choice... my loved one would have never been in there. No compassion, no caring at all. It's just a pay check to these people. Yes that's how I truly feel and and was made to feel that way. Very very disappointed and unhappy with the whole ordeal.

I was in the rehabilitation part of that awful place. My entire stay there was a nightmare. I went straight from being in UAB in an ambulance to North Hill at midnight, I didn't know where they were taking me. I am only 58 years old now and it's been a year since I left that place.I am a burn victim and I couldn't walk when I got there, so I couldn't get up to go to the bathroom. On the very first morning I woke up and I needed to tt very bad, when I asked the first CNA I saw to help me I got yelled at and told I had to wait until everyone in the place got food. Well when nature calls I demanded a bed pan. It was the exact same Hateful Jamaican nurse every time she would try to start an argument over helping me with anything I asked for. I am a fiesty woman and I tried to ask nicely every time I needed anything, cause I knew how they would act. Only a few of the RNS we're sweet, caring people. I am a very small woman and I got spun in my sheets so badly that it ripped my newly skin grafted arms and legs open and I bled badly and was in horrible pain. The nurse was mad because they made her stop something else she was doing to come change my bed.I did report this and instead of the heffer losing her job the director and nursing director said she just did it by accident. Oh No She Didn't. I made some great friends while staying there 5 people.I still talk to my sweet friend, who is stuck living in that Hell.. I feel so sorry for her ! I only have one thing to tell you if you care at all about your family member don't do this to your loved ones!!!!!! They might not come out of this place at all !!!

I was there on the weekend. The lady who sits at the door is extremely professional from the way she treated us to the way she was dressed. She was pleasant and it is obvious she likes her job. When you care, you care.

Now I've been to enough nursing homes to know that the weekend crew is going to be slim, and perhaps people are filling in. So I'm not sure this was regular staff or weekend staff. However, regardless of staff, it should always be professional. Never should I hear the "F" word in any setting. Upon arrival, some staff was sitting outside on the benches. It seems someone was cursing out someone on the phone while on their break. I heard several "F" bombs from that conversation. Once we got in the facility a few steps before we reached the patient's room, a staff member seemed to be upset that someone took something off her cart and she said "The "F" you betta bring it back".

Once in with the patient, we kept asking when the patient would receive lunch at this point it is noon. Twice the response was "I don't know." Because my friend wasn't going to leave before her family member was fed, I was hungry. I left to get me something to eat. The staff must have had their lunch delivered. They were sure what time they were eating. At this time, all of them were at the front desk getting their lunch.

So, as nursing homes go, just do all you can to check on your loved one regularly and make your presence known. Say a prayer before you get there, a prayer while you are there, and a prayer when you leave.

I wish i could say something nice about this facility but my mother just had to bury her baby sister because of the negligence of this facility. She got sepsis from a bed sore that went untreated. The staff is very rude. The eyerolls from these nurses will send fire through your veins. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this facility it needs to be shut down period

Didn’t give me my medicine like they should I now have a blood clot in my right leg that is 12.5 “. Said to bring it up with the medical board is what they said when my daughter told them. I was in therapy till 5:45 and when I got back into my room I told them I needed my blood thinner they went out of the room and came back and told me I already had it and I hadn’t because I was in therapy all day. The nurse said I was the second person to say that but it was down I had. The doctors at the hospital told me to take it at the same time everyday because of my blood clots. That doctor that works there was very rude to my daughter on the phone. One nurse gave my personal information out without knowing who it was on the phone. Said he gave it to my sister and I don’t have a sister. It was another daughter and he didn’t even get a name. Let me lay in a wet bed nearly 3 hours. Called on the button and the nurses assistance saw my button on but left work without seeing me. One of the nurses from another hall saw her clock out and came to help me since my light had been on for so long. One nurse came in and gave me some medicine but tried to give me a snack and a shot that went to the patient next door. I told her that wasn’t mine so she said it went next door. Must have been insulin with a snack. I’m not a diabetic. I think the patient next door had the same last name. I don’t think they are suppose to take but one patient medicine at a time. A few of the nurses would bring me my medicine and leave it on my table and not watch me take it. My Mother was a nurse and I knew they were suppose to watch you take it. One came on to change my diaper and poured some kind of liquid from the wipes on my bottom and I only had pee on me. It was cold and a lot. I couldn’t walk because I had been in the hospital for over 2 months in ICU for 25 days. One assistance was rude and opened a jar of cream that was given to me around 30 minuets earlier and put her hand in it, so I told her she could have it since she opened it without permission. Didn’t give me a bath like they should have. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to go there. Wish I hadn’t went there. Never will again.
