I required complete extractions. I was somewhat anxious to do this procedure, but Dr. Powers and his team made me feel quite at ease. During the procedure, there was virtually little pain. My gums' healing process is going incredibly well. The ease with which Dr. Powers extracted my teeth astounded me. Throughout the entire process, novicane strength persisted. Additionally, I chose the gas, which greatly reduces the anxiety associated with getting the shots. The healing process was the most painful, although it usually goes away in a week or two. I went with imedates as well. I wasn't sure how they would fit as my gums shrank, I was anxious before making this decision. But they fit perfectly, and now they're even better with the first soft relign. Since my dental insurance has already reached its maximum, I am quite grateful for the two complimentary sessions of soft reline that they give. The staff here is really knowledgeable, and I don't think there's anything to be concerned about that they can't resolve or provide you with certain answers to. I was putting off having this procedure done bc I believed it would require going to a surgeon and being put under, and it wasn't! Finding a dentist who can perform nearly everything I need done in one location is such a relief. I would strongly advise going here if you require dentures and teeth extractions. Additionally, the imedate dentures lets you avoid going without teeth for a long time. Immediately following tooth extraction, the imedates are placed, giving you the self-assurance to resume your regular activities in public. You won't have to worry about paying more for permanents following the procedure because these will also become your permanent set. I still need to have the bottom completed and my lower imedates done, but I have faith that this team and the procedure will get me on my path to a gorgeous, healthy smile so I can resume eating all of my favorite foods!

I highly recommend Dr. Richard Powers. He is so very skilled and has always managed my dental problems efficiently with great attention to my comfort. He and his staff have always met my needs in the best way possible.

Not very happy with my first appointment, after sitting for 45 minutes to be seen just to open my mouth and 5 seconds later be told see you in 8 months. That don't fix sore teeth. 2 weeks after the exam, what I thought was a filling to fall out, was part of a tooth from a cavity I was unaware of. Powers still charged me full price for his irresponsible 5 second exam that led to me having to get my tooth fixed by a professional.
thankfully river valley dental was able to get me in the day after it happened and got me fixed up.

I called to schedule an appointment to have a wisdom tooth looked at. They gave me a date and time that worked, the staff was friendly, and all was well. The morning of the appointment, one of my pets fell ill and I called to cancel, to find out that they charge a $25 fee for same-day cancellation AND reschedules! This was not disclosed to me when I called and made the appointment. I didn’t go, and today I received a bill in the mail. Life happens, and people should not be penalized for that. Or at least if you’re going to, make sure your staff informs potential new clients up front. I’ve never been anywhere in my entire life with such a ridiculous policy.

I am 33 and just had my first filling ever. Dr. Powers and his staff are awesome, kind, and professional! He told me that if anything were uncomfortable during my filling I could put my hand up and they'd stop immediately. I really appreciated that as I was a little nervous and unsure of what to expect. It was a quick, painless procedure! I'd highly recommend Dr. Powers to anyone! Not only is the dental work good, but the staff are caring and knowledgeable!

Everyone's favorite provider to visit? Certainly not the dentist. But, the good news is.... Lock Haven is home to the best Dentist most people have ever visited.
At almost 40 years old, I've lived in 8 different areas of PA in my adult life (all 2 hours or so apart) which means I've had to search for a new dentist that many times as well.
I have anxiety about even cleanings due to previous cleanings and fillings being unpleasant. I had never had a terribly traumatizing experience, I just really can't tolerate the feeling of the grinding during a filling and even cleanings with the electric scaler.
Let's start with Monica: Monica is the best hygienist that has ever cleaned my teeth. I've seen her twice and each time, I've reminded her about my sensitivity on my bottom front teeth, and I've never even flinched during her cleanings. She is the sweetest.
Dr. Powers? Besides the fact that he is so easy to talk to and is great with my children ranging from preschool to 18 years old, he knows what he is doing. He did the first filling that I've ever needed him to do for me today. I opted to have the nitrous gas after being offered it when I mentioned that I was nervous, and I have never had such an easy numbing, drilling, filling (and even bite adjusting!) experience in my life.
The assistant (her name is escaping me at the moment) who prepped me for my filling was so incredibly friendly and non-judgemental of my nervous talking before the procedure. Christina did my filling, and adjusted my bite perfectly on the first shot.
Dr. Powers and his team are SO relaxed, have such a great environment, and I am so very grateful to have a dental office team that I am not afraid of.

I had to go to get a tooth pulled. I was already gassed up from a procedure they call a gross debridement when they came in to they numbed me up, and he yanked that bad tooth right out took less than a minute. Went home and slept like a baby. Just went in again for a filling and it took 30 minutes to get me in and done. I have never liked the dentist, and have always been terrified to go. I am so glad I found this dentist office!!! I told my husband if we ever moved I'd drive just to see Dr. Powers!!

I am so happy that I found the best dental office. I have to have extensive dental work done and am very embarrassed. I have had a huge fear of dentist all my life and now I can honestly say all my fears are totally gone. Dr Powers and all of his staff are the best and totally understanding and patient. They all make you feel at ease. Love you all so much for everything you have done for me so far and I will definitely come back again and again. Bless you all.
