My Mother was sent here after breaking her Ankle and having surgery. She arrived on a Friday. They could not source one of her medications, so I had to bring it from home. The care provided to my Mom was average. They did not provide elevation for her legs as required. I had to go there and wash my mom on several non shower days. Just no one to help. The food was horrible and portions way small. After going back to her orthopedic for a follow-up. We had a horrible experience with getting my mother her walking boot because she was inpatient at Allied. The next day we requested and I had to put up a fight to have her discharged. That was the tenth day, she had enough and wanted to come home. She was not able to do much for herself and should have been kept another week. She could not rest as they allowed five to six people nightly to visit her roomate. Her legs were swollen, she was not being cleaned enough, and was waiting long periods to go to the bathroom. I was able to give her better care at our house. If the need arises again I will select a different facility for care.

I was told they set up Homehealth. It was a week before Allied Homehealth OT and PT came to our home. The HHA shows when she can. The therapists are lovely from the Homehealth division.

The worst thing is to watch a family member sit and have to wait on their nurses to finish their gossiping before helping her to the bathroom this is one of the worst place to ever put a loved one. I would give them a zero star too if I was able too. Your job isn't to talk to friends it is to take care of other people's loved ones.

i WOULD LIKE TO OFFER MY DEEPEST APPRECIATION TO THE ENTIRE STAFF OF THE ALLIED SERVICES REHABILITATION HOSPITAL FOR THE OUTSTANDING CARE THAT I RECEIVED DURING MY HOSPITALIZATION. WHEN I FIRST ARRIVED I THOUGHT THAT I WOULD NEVER WALK AGAIN IN A PROPER MANNER. HOWEVER, THE PROFESSIONAL CARE THAT I RECEIVED AND THE ENCOURAGEMENT BY STAFF ENABLED ME TO REACH THE GOALS THAT WERE SET FOR ME. A VERY SPECIAL THANKS TO MY OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST AMY FRANTZ AND MY PHYSICAL THERAPIST GINA TOMASSORI FOR THEIR PATIENCE AND SPECIALIZED TREAMENT. GINA WAS EXCEPTIONA IN PROVIDING ME WITH THE BEST THERAPY AND MAKING CERTAIN THAT I ACHIEVED THE GOALS SET FOR MY RECOVERY. I CAN NEVER FULLY EXPRESS MY GRATITUDE FOR HER EXPERTISE AND COMMITTMENT TO MY RECOVERY. AMY SHOWED UP EVERY MORNING WITH A SMILE AND ASSISTED ME IN GETTING READY FOR THE DAY AHEAD. a SPECIAL THANKS TO DR. JOSEPH AKLINSKI WHO WAS MY ATTENDING PHYSICIAN. HIS DEDICATION AND ASSISTANCE AT CRITICAL TIMES WAS APPRECIATED. DAWN,BEATRICE AND LINDA ARE VERY SPECIAL.THERE ARE SO MANY GOOD PEOPLE TO THANK. MAY ALL OF YOU BE BLESSED FOR MANY YEARS TO COME FOR THE COMFORT AND HEALING THAT YOU PROVIDE TO YOUR PATIENTS.
ETERNALLY GRATEFUL, STANLEY BIRCH

I recommend finding another facility if possible. There has been numerous problems with this facility from them forgetting to send food to my sister, leaving her in her bed too long, not assisting her with going to the bathroom/getting out of bed as needed, not returning phone messages, to denying free support services requested by the family to access my sister. There are much better facilities in the area. I suggest finding one before coming here.

After my son survived a life-threatening accident when a dui driver hit him on his motorcycle. And after 14 surgeries, sepsis and two other infections, in 6 weeks he went to allied acute care rehab from geisinger community medical center. In two weeks he went from being unable to move without 2-3 people assist to being able to get out of bed with tools they taught him to use on his own to a walker and wheelchair. He will come home with home care. Their Nurses, Physical therapists, Occupational therapists and doctors are great.

Don't leave your loved ones here. My grandfather is currently there and the nurses are just making up and changing the rules. We were originally told that we can visit 24 hours a day, 2 people at a time. This whole memorial day weekend we had no problems, last night at 12 AM my aunt was told she had to leave by the head nurse. That there was no 24 hour visiting and that she had to make an appointment to see my grandfather. The head nurse then threatened to CALL THE COPS on my aunt if she did not leave....she had no car there and no ride home so my uncle had to drive there and pick her up.

Who threatens to call the cops on someone who's loved one is dying? That nurse needs to be fired.

We also have no idea why my grandfather is in the rehab center and not in the hospice center. He is receiving HOSPICE CARE and we were told that he is in his final stages.

This place and its unskilled nurses almost killed my grandfather. They were not monitoring his food intake and after 3 days of not eating anything off of his plate, his health rapidly declined. Only after my family member sat down with him during a meal and noticed that he took one bite of food, were we able to link his poor health status to his lack of nutrition and food intake. When confronted, the nurses said "Yes, he is not really eating." and yet they decide not to inform any of the family members of his situation and would have left him to starve to death. The nurses and receptionists are uncaring, rude, and monstrous people. The receptionist was on the phone when I first walked in to visit my grandfather so I waited until she was off of the phone so I could ask her what floor he was on. She continued to ignore me and then said to the person on the other end, "Sometimes people will just know where to go so no I do not need to help her." She deliberately ignored me and was rude ever time I walked in there. A receptionist should greet each and every guest and be polite. Also the nurses are very disrespectful. An elderly lady in the room next to my grandfather's was literally crying for "Someone to please help me!" for 10 minutes with her call light flashing. I grew worried and went to the nurses station and probed them of the situation. They were huddled in a group, looked at me, ignored my question and went back to talking. My own grandfather had to wait 10 minutes with his call light ringing and when no nurse came to help him to the restroom, I decided to help him up. When a nurse came in 20 minutes later and saw he was up, she yelled at me. I told her that an elderly man should not have to hold on for 20 minutes for a nurse to come help him. The nurses are mean and so uncaring. If you have a loved one, do not send them to this place. I am taking my grandfather out of this horrible place and filing a formal complaint asap.
