If I could leave ZERO stars I would! Worse experience ever! For my father to constantly call saying he'd rather be DEAD then here was so unacceptable. Talk to staff and nothing changed. Called to talk to a nurse that had went into his room to treat something and she couldn't tell me what she was treating. Told me she would have to take a look had just put a patch and cream on his back. She had the nerve to ask me if I wanted her to pacify him, that she had been in his room every 15 minutes moving him every which away she doesn't know what else she can do and hung up on me. So I called back told her it was no need to hang up I'm just asking for help with knowing what's on his back I'm 7 hours away. Told her seems like she's having a bad night she proceeds to start yelling that she's having a great night and is busy has other patients and I told her I totally understand I just wanted to know what was wrong and asked if they had management of duty she told me she was the manager so I told her I'd be calling Ms. DAVIS tomorrow and her whole attitude changed and she tried to clean it up by going tell me dad not to be calling his daughters upsetting them which was totally unacceptable! This is just one incident!! I've spoken to many and nothing was ever resolved! The bad seeds need to be removed like nurse Tammy so the wonderful employees that actually enjoy making the patients smile like Leon, and a few others can shine bright and make this place a better one! Not to mention when I drove there 3 weeks ago the staff on that Friday night were just sitting around and standing there talking amongst themselves. I'm asking do I need to sign in or anything they said no if you know where you going you can go. I know it's an older facility but cleanliness was most definitely an issue. So much was wrong and I hate that my dad had the experience he had here. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

My Mom was at the facility for 3 months. I had the pleasure of working with many CNA, therapist and administrators. One particular lady, Ms. Watts, was extremely helpful. She is the Discharge Planner. She kept me updated on insurance appeals, helped to set up equipment needed for when my Mom went home, home health info and set-up for the following week, and scheduled necessary meetings for me and my Mom with the physical therapists. I appreciate her dedication, kindness and caring attitude toward the patients and their family!

Do not send a loved one to this facility, these people don’t care about the residents. I’ve heard complaints about the filth, treatment, lack of compassion or human decency towards the residents, as well as employees. They don’t maintain the vehicles used to transfer residents, which seems illegal on its own. On top of everything, firing employees that are trying to better the facility, seems like sabotage, and is honestly suspicious; why wouldn’t they want cleaner rooms, vehicles, and happier residents If I could call the police, I would, but a complaint is going to have to do, unfortunately. Hopefully the right people will see these reviews.

Review 10/13/2024 My mother, Willie Stripling, aka “Micki” who passed away on September 21, was a resident there. Overall, her care was acceptable and above average when staffing allowed. Thank you to those hardworking and caring cna’s and nurses. Ms. Stripling appeared to be loved by many of the staff and she seemed to care about the people around her as well. That is why I left almost everything behind for the staff to use as they saw fit: wheelchair, walker, working tv, mini frig, blankets, clothes, and more.
My PROBLEM today, October 13, 2024 is administrative at this time and not really sure if the delay lies with the nursing facility or with the physician that served my mother or with the bureaucracy involved in passing away at a nursing home. Ms. Stripling passed 22 days ago and still no doctor signature for the local funeral home to file for death certificate. Multiple attempts have been made by the funeral home to move the process along. Others downstream of this process are affected as well.
Second review 10/14/2024 Ms. Stripling passed away 23 days ago.
Just learned today from local funeral home that Talladega Rehab Nursing Facility has sent to physician request for electronic signature to file for death certificate so the delay is no fault of theirs. Thank you! Physicians are busy people and are sometimes on holiday and so forth so I’m sure that’s the reason for the delay. That 30 day window closes in a week so I’ve been told not to worry about it and that this is not highly unusual. I don’t live in the state of Alabama and I’m not familiar with their methods. I just know in my area, that though this happens, it is very uncommon for this amount of time to go by without a signature so… of course, this may not apply to the entire state of Georgia, but it does in my area. It’s just that money is owed to funeral homes that has to have this death certificate.
DAY 27 SINCE MOTHER HAS PASSED with NO doctor signature. NOW I am very very displeased. Day 30 is Monday. Certainly the local funeral home and THIS nursing home need a death certificate as much as I do. I owe money for funeral expenses. What is next? Everyone I talk to is shocked. It is way beyond that for me. I am a senior citizen myself with health problems and this is taking a toll on me. I just hope and pray to live to finish all this. Way beyond shocking and disappointing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went to visit my father in law today at the facility. When we walked into his room, he was slumped over his chair and it smelt like he had soiled himself. Nobody spoke to us when we walked in, we didn’t have to check in and nobody even stopped us or asked about our presence there. The whole atmosphere of this facility was gross. We also overheard that the staff to resident ratio is 1:20. Is that even legal?

They need a social worker in crossrod ( first floor)
It has been about one year without one and when you ask for something NObody can help. I have asked for a transfer for my mother to a Mobile al nursing home for couple of years and no success perhaps someine cam help.

I really don't know how to word this but I'll try. If I something good to say then I would be glad to write about it. I have a brother that was almost forced to go to rehab select against his will. . He was at Huntsville hospital and when it was time for him to leave they took him to Talladega which is over 2 hours from his family and place where he grew up. The thing that bothers me is I can't check on him because probably 7 or 8 employees have answered the phone then say they will go tell him to call me but I never hear anything from anybody. I haven't spoke to my brother in going on 2 weeks because their phones are messed up. To all the people that have lied to me, may God's mercy be on you for lying about such stuff. My brother caught COVID-19 from a roommate they put him in the room with and now I can't get anybody to tell me how he is doing. It does me no good to call the place they haven't done anything they said they was gonna do like have my brother call me. I have got to figure out a way to get him away from there. It's ridiculous that I have no idea what's going on with him.

I was there at that facility three years ago and they were really nice to me,, the nurses and CNAs were all nice and the therapists were amazing. I'll give this place a thumbs up ?
Y'all keep up the good work, you're doing great. That's my story and I'm sticking to it
